Swim UK always values feedback from their customers and are continually looking to improve. Please have a look at the feedback below and the steps that we have taken to improve our courses and services:
Providing a map
You said: can we provide you with a map for the Sign Up session? we delivered
We did: We have included a link in our confirmation letter taking you through to 'How to Find Us' page on our website containing maps and further details for all of our venues. |
More children at ttl
You said: Please can you arrange for more children to turn up to the TTL sessions? We delivered
We did: We have now introduced some free TTL sessions to boost the attendance of swimmers at our TTL sessions for Level 1 and 2 teaching aquatics swimming qualifications. |
Individual feedback
You said: Is it possible to have more individual feedback from the tutor on the courses? we delivered
We did: We have spoken to our tutors at a recent standardisation meeting to make them aware of this feedback which has now been implemented to a much greater degree. |
Pool timing issues
You said: Pool times were very spread out on some days for the courses. We delivered
We did: We are working closely with centres to organise pool time more effectively. |
need more manikins
You said: More manikins were needed for our First Aid courses. We delivered
We did: Swim UK have invested in purchasing more manikins for all of our first aid and NPLQ courses. |
School drop off
You said: It was hard to fit a 9:00am-5:00pm course in with school drop off's and pick up's. we delivered
We did: We are now trying to run some courses over two days from 9:30am to 2:30pm and have trialled this on two courses now. |
course preparation
You said: Prior to the course some advice on what to read and prepare would be helpful. we delivered
We did: Fitness course requirements are now that a body of worksheets have to be completed prior to the course commencing. This has increased achievement rates as learners have a clear idea of the level of knowledge required to participate on this cour |
more time in the gym
You said: You would like to have more time in the gym on Fitness courses. we delivered
We did: Due to busy periods we had restrictions on gym usage, however we have a new facility where gym usage is much more flexible and as a result learners have access to the gym more. |
old changing areas
You said: Male changing rooms – particularly shower areas were outdated and grubby. we delivered
We did: After consultation with the Brighton Swimming Centre where we hire pool and classroom facilities, it’s with delight that we can confirm Male and Female changing areas have received an overhaul during April. |
asa learn to swim
You said: ASA Learn to Swim Framework – it would be good if we were given this as a handout. we delivered
We did: After consultation with our ASA tutors regarding course resources, all learners enrolling on an ASA Level 1 will now be given the Learn to Swim Framework handout during their course. We feel this additional resource will improve our learners experience. |
introduce videos
You said: Introduce a few videos, as the explanations/demonstrations of the strokes by the tutor were fantastic but some of us are more visual learners than verbal. we delivered
We did: We are in the process of recording demonstrations of all four strokes to upload on to our website for learners to refer to throughout their courses and also to gain some knowledge/idea prior to their courses commencing – these videos will be uploaded over August. |
parking issues
You said: Parking at Brighton Swimming Centre is often very tricky. we delivered
We did: We have been working closely with the centre to open up more parking, especially at weekends and the centre is still served by very frequent public transport. |
pool time
You said: More pool time on a Swim England Level 1 Swimming Assistant we delivered
We did: We will be working with the swimming pools we hire in 2017/2018 to include additional pool time when and where it is available. |
CPD's
You said: CPD’s should be longer we delivered
We did: The addition of swimming related CPDs are new to our timetable and the three we have run so far have been very well received. This feedback to extend the CPD’s is really useful and definitely something we can factor in. |
New CPD's
You said: Suggestions of new CPDs – Special Needs, Games for all abilities, Schools National Curriculum. Also running the CPD’s at weekends and evenings would be useful. we delivered
We did: When we begin building the new schedule of CPD’s we can factor these specialist areas in. We will also be running some at weekends and evenings. All dates will be advertised on our website. |
